ARE YOU ANXIOUS?

Anxiety frequently presents with a flurry of uncomfortable sensations in the body. Anxiety often seems to come on suddenly with no obvious trigger and can feel uncontrollable. Here are some of the more commonly reported symptoms of anxiety:

  • Excessive worry and overthinking

  • Jitteriness, irritability, stomach problems

  • Heart palpitations, tingling or numbness

  • Shortness of breath, difficulty focusing

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Sweating, avoiding change

  • Dizziness

NOT ALL ANXIETY IS

EXPERIENCED THE SAME

Not all anxiety is experienced the same way for everyone. There are different forms of anxiety with each requiring a varied approach. If you have discussed your symptoms with your family doctor, they may have explored potential forms of anxiety you might be experiencing, which could include:

  • Generalized Anxiety

  • Panic Attacks

  • Social Anxiety

  • Fears and Phobias

  • Post-Traumatic Stress

  • Obsessions (including intrusive thoughts and overthinking)

  • Health, Performance, or Test Anxiety

A few common coping strategies for anxiety include avoidance, accommodating or pleasing others, a need to control things and people and seeking reassurance. Therapy can help you dial down your use of these strategies and become your more authentic self.

While worry and anxiety are completely normal human responses to perceived threats and dangers in our environment, chronic anxiety can be profoundly debilitating, robbing you of the quality of life deserved. You deserve to let your radiance shine, embracing the confident person you've always aspired to become. It’s time to let the world see it too! So, how do we get there?
